Job description
Before you read further
We ship to 14 markets. Every release touches revenue. That means quality is not a checkbox at the end of the line, it is engineering discipline built into how we work. This role is not for someone who wants to file bug tickets and hand them off. It is for someone who owns whether the platform breaks in production, and builds the systems that stop it from happening. You will own whether the platform breaks in production, and build the systems that stop it. If that is the job you want, keep reading!
Why this role exists
HelloPrint is on a mission to become the world's leading infrastructure for customizable printed products. From our offices in Rotterdam and Valencia, 100+ professionals from 20+ nationalities are building an AI-first company that scales output faster than headcount. We are rebuilding the platform: ecommerce, APIs, internal tooling, all under active development at speed. Speed without quality is just faster breakage. This role exists to make fast releases safe, and to turn QA from a bottleneck into leverage.
What you will build
Automation frameworks that let engineers ship with confidence, not hope;
Automated test suites (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent) across ecommerce, APIs, and internal tools;
QA integrated into CI/CD, so tests run on every deploy and catch failures before customers do;
Exploratory and edge-case testing that scripted suites miss;
QA strategy and standards that the rest of engineering adopts, not just follows;
AI into the QA process: test generation, coverage analysis, anything that removes manual toil.

Job requirements
Who you are
You treat QA as engineering, not as a gate. You write code to test code.
You have shipped automation that other people rely on, and you have opinions about why most test suites rot.
You do not just find bugs, you make the case for them: clear repro, real impact, right priority, so they get fixed instead of parked.
Three signals that tell us you are that person
You have built an automation framework from scratch that a team actually used, not just extended someone else's
You reach for AI to remove repetitive QA work before anyone asks you to
You have caught the bug that would have cost real money, because you thought about the edge case no one else did
Must-haves
5+ years of QA experience in both manual and automation testing.
Strong hands-on automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent
Proven CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
API testing depth (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
Exploratory and edge-case testing that no scripted suite will ever catch. Your instinct for where things break is a core part of the job, not a fallback
AI-first thinking: you use AI as part of how you test, not as a novelty
High autonomy with minimal process, and clear communication across two offices
Rotterdam office-first commitment, non-negotiable
Nice to have
Ecommerce or SaaS background at scale
JavaScript/TypeScript or PHP
Performance, load, and accessibility testing experience
Docker

This role is not for you if you
See QA as the step that happens after the "real" work;
Want a fixed checklist and no ownership of strategy;
Got into automation because it was on a job spec, not because manual repetition genuinely bothers you;
Need heavy process to move;
Would rather work from home than sit next to the team you are gatekeeping for.
What we offer
🎯 Room to grow: real ownership of QA strategy, not a seat in a queue
🌍 The team: 100+ people, 20+ nationalities, building something serious
🚀 Real impact: your work directly protects revenue across 14 markets
💡 High autonomy: minimal process, maximum trust
🏃 Hello-Benefits: 24/7 HelloFit gym access, UrbanSportsClub discount, the best events, and company-sponsored healthy meals every day
💶 Base salary: 4000-6000 gross per month, depending on seniority and experience
Ready to build something? We need bold thinkers, fast executors, and AI-first problem solvers. If that sounds like you, apply now. Let's redefine an industry together.
